The Warning Zone Blog

February 2012

09/02/2012

Just into February and as well as schools we have already had a few other visitors to the Zone. On Friday 3rd February we were visited by Nicky Morgan MP and also the current Mayor of Melton, Alison Freer. Later this month we have a visit from the Leicestershire & Rutland Combined Fire Authority and the following week we are hosting members of Charnwood Community Safety team. Alan is gadding around the country. He is attending the Safety Centre Alliance meeting in Bristol next week, giving him the opportunity to network with other people who run similar centres around the country.

Up and coming events include the High Sheriffs Dinner and Casino Evening at Oakham School on Friday 17th February. Tickets are still available so if you would like further details contact the office. We have been given another cash-back opportunity from Leicester Tigers and we will be selling tickets for the match on May 5th. Once again £5 for each ticket we sell will come to Warning Zone, further details of this will be available on the website once we have confirmation of ticket prices through from Tigers, so watch this space!

School bookings continue to come in and we have just passed 2,700 Year 6 pupils through the Zone since we opened last September.

February Quote of the Month:

"I was well frit! When I touched the button and something exploded. It really made me think!"

And finally....

Rachel asked me to remind everyone that St Valentines Day is on February 14th and she will be camped out in our reception from 13th - 15th accepting deliveries of card and flowers.
