A poster design competition has not only brought success to young local artists but has also raised funds to help safety education centre Warning Zone, move to their new premises.

Lou Cavner has now organised another fundraising quiz to be held on Monday 26th July at The Grange Garden Centre Bar & Restaurant at Asfordby Hill near Melton Mowbray.

The quiz night held on 28 June at The Belvoir Brewery was a great success raising £152 for Warning Zone

One of Warning Zone’s original volunteers has clocked up her 100th session helping youngsters to stay safe and out of trouble.

Thursday 8th October 2009 saw yet another Warning Zone volunteer achieve the milestone of having completed 100 sessions. Margaret Manning of Mountsorrel, is the first of our volunteers

Every organisation needs to ask itself, “How are we doing? What are we doing well and what do we need to do in order to improve?” Warning Zone is not subject to any statutory inspection process so the trustees authorised Chief Executive Sharon Binfield-Hill to instigate a critical self assessment process.

Since October 2006, 15,000 Year 6 children from schools across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have visited Warning Zone and judging by the feedback from teachers, pupils and parents, their experiences there have made a huge impression on them.

Three more Warning Zone volunteers clocked up their 100th session before the end of the school year in July.

In February 2009, volunteer Brian Payne achieved the landmark of guiding his 100th group of children around Warning Zone

Warning Zone, the Syston based children's safety education centre, has launched its new workbook. The book has been written specifically for children who have visited the centre and provides teachers with a ready made resource for follow-up work. The book is in colour and is accompanied by a teacher's pack and dvd.
