  • Charity Appoints New Trustees

    High Sheriffs' charity Leicestershire and Rutland Crimebeat has appointed three new Trustees at their recent Annual General Meeting.

     

    Libby Gilman of Pilton in Rutland was High Sheriff of the county in 2007 and since then has remained involved as a volunteer guide for the charity's Warning Zone safety education project and in fundraising activities.

     

    Thomas Cooper was also High Sheriff of Rutland in 2008. He lives in Exton and is a chartered surveyor and land agent.

     

    Also appointed as a trustee is David Lindley Mr Lindley lives in Swithland and is a former Deputy Chief Constable of the Leicestershire Constabulary who retired in 2008.

     

    At the same meeting, trustee Michael Allen was confirmed as Chairman, a post he had assumed on an interim basis following the sudden death of Barry Jackson in April. Mr Allen said,

     

    "These are busy times for the charity with work having just started on the new Warning Zone at Frog Island. The trustees are looking forward to working with Libby, Tommy and David who all bring valuable experience and new ideas to the Board."
