This is an educational trip that you won't want your pupils to miss! Our core programme for Year 6 provides teachers with a unique PSHE and Citizenship resource that has real impact.
A visit to Warning Zone promotes an understanding of risk, safety and responsibility. It links directly to your commitment to being a Healthy School and the wellbeing of your pupils as they approach transition to secondary education.
This is not about wrapping children in cotton wool, rather presenting the plain and honest facts in a memorable and understandable way that assists schools in the personal and social development of their pupils.
"You cover a whole PSHE area of the curriculum in one morning that would take us half a term to cover."
Barwell C of E Junior School
WARNING ZONE WORKBOOK
A Warning Zone workbook provides the opportunity for follow-up PSHE/Citizenship work after a visit to the centre. It has been developed to reflect the children's experience at Warning Zone and schools are provided with enough copies for each pupil. Teachers' notes are also provided.
"Really impressed - we used it that afternoon and the children were thoroughly absorbed." Ketton C of E Primary.
BOOKING PROCEDURE 2012/13
- Provisional Bookings to be made by calling Paula on 0116 2629739. The entrance fee is £5.00 per pupil. (£7.00 per pupil if visiting from outside Leicestershire & Rutland)
- To confirm your booking please return your completed booking form, along with a cheque for your deposit of £75.00 per session made payable to Leicestershire & Rutland Crimebeat Ltd. Provisional bookings not confirmed within 30 days will be cancelled and the date will become available to other schools to book. We do ask that to avoid confusion, completed booking forms are only sent in once your date(s) have been confirmed with Paula as available.
- On receipt of your completed booking form, written confirmation of your booking along with a receipt for the deposit will be sent to you.
- As there may be a substantial gap between making your booking and actually attending the centre, we will contact you approximately two weeks before your visit date to confirm details and check the number of pupils you will be bringing. However, we do ask that if you become aware that your numbers will change significantly, you need to notify us as soon as possible to ensure we are able to meet your changing needs in the most effective way.
- On arrival at Warning Zone you will be met by a member of staff who will act as the visit manager for the duration of the visit. You will be asked to verify and sign off the actual number of pupils attending. Please note: These numbers will be used to determine your final invoice total (minus your deposit). If your numbers on the day are below the minimum number of 15, in line with our minimum charge policy of £75.00 per session, no refund will be given.

We do appreciate that it is not always easy to convey to Parents the importance of a vist such as this, especially if you asking them to contribute to the trip. With this in mind we have put together a couple of paragraphs for you to include into your letters home to help explain why this is a worthwile visit. Click here to download the suggest text.
