Volunteering at Warning Zone

Volunteers play a key and highly valued role at WARNING ZONE. Every time a school party visits "The Zone", up to seven volunteers are needed who each act as a guide/educator for a maximum of six children.

Warning Zone volunteers come from a wide and varied background. Some are retired, some work shifts or part-time, but all have a desire to help children understand how to avoid unnecessary risks and stay out of trouble.

New volunteers are always welcome. A Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age and prepared to commit to a minimum of two half-day sessions each month during term time. Full training is given and all applicants are CRB checked. Travelling expenses are reimbursed.

What some of our Volunteers Think?

"Warning Zone allows me to do something worthwhile for the community. The children learn vital life lessons in a fun way and it gives me pleasure to see them leave fired with enthusiasm." Lynn Hancock (volunteer)

"This is a great way to put something back and help kids understand the possible consequences of their actions, both in terms of accidents and the law."
Dave Webster (volunteer)

"It is great fun and a pleasure to work with the other team members. I would recommend anyone with an interest in helping young people and who is able to spare a little time each month to contact Warning Zone." Tom Barkley (volunteer)
