INTRODUCTIONIt is made up of 8 set-piece scenarios. Each incorporates realistic settings, inter-active equipment and special effects. There are no paper and pens, everything being "hands-on" and experiential. Each scenario lasts only 12 minutes and concludes with a knowledge check. About the ScenariosBuilding Sites/ElectricityThe dangers of trespassing on building sites, in electrical sub-stations and the hazards of overhead power lines. Road SafetyCentred on "in-car" safety, being conspicuous to other road users and crossing the road safely. Alcohol & Under-age DrinkingFocusing on groups of young people drinking in public places, this scenario looks at the legal, health and anti-social behaviour issues. Personal SafetyAll about making safe choices, recognising when we are potentially unsafe and assessing risk levels. RailwaysWhy railway lines are such dangerous places and what could happen if you throw stones at trains. Safety Around WaterThis scenario covers all aspects of water safety whether at the beach or near a canal. Criminal Damage & ArsonUsing criminal damage and arson as examples, the consequences of crime and offending are explored while considering the power of peer pressure. Fire Safety in the HomeCommon causes of accidental house fires, smoke detectors, fire escape plans and making 999 calls are all looked at in this scenario. |
